Dr. Taras Martyniouk is a dedicated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with deep roots in the Northshore area. He began his academic journey at the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. He went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, graduating at the top of his class.
Dr. Martyniouk was awarded the Health Professions Scholarship through the United States Air Force, which then helped pave the way for his acceptance into the Air Force Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in California. Upon completing his residency, he served in Japan for two years, delivering full-scope OMFS care to military personnel and their families. During this time, he achieved board certification and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Concluding his military career, Dr. Martyniouk returned to Travis Air Force Base as an attending surgeon, where he helped train future oral and maxillofacial surgeons. After nine years of honorable military service, he is excited to return to his hometown with his wife and two young sons.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Martyniouk and his family enjoy new culinary experiences whether it is cooking together or trying new restaurants, exploring the outdoors, and staying active at the gym.
