Your First Visit
What To Expect
At NorthShore Center for Oral & Facial Surgery and Implantology, your comfort and confidence are our top priorities.
At NorthShore Center for Oral & Facial Surgery and Implantology, your comfort and confidence are our top priorities. Your first visit is designed to help us get to know you, understand your needs, and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.
During your initial consultation, we will review your medical and dental history, perform an examination, and, if necessary, take x-rays or 3D imaging. Your surgeon will explain your diagnosis in clear terms and walk you through your treatment options. This is also the time when we’ll discuss anesthesia or sedation choices and answer any questions you may have, so you feel completely prepared for your care.
In some cases, surgery can be performed on the same day as your consultation. However, for patients with more complex conditions or medical histories, a second appointment may be necessary. If your treatment requires IV sedation or anesthesia, you will need to avoid eating or drinking for at least eight hours prior to your procedure, and arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home afterward.
From your first consultation to your final follow-up, we are committed to providing expert surgical care in a welcoming and supportive environment. Our goal is to ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and confident at every stage of your treatment journey.
